TT LAUNCH DAY

TEEN TURNOVER LAUNCH DAY
On Monday 29th March 2010 we held an event to celebrate the opening of the new look Teen Zone at the Chestnut Centre Library.

The launch event included a visit from author Donovan Christopher aka “Rappaman” and a class of students from Fartown High School were lucky enough to take part in a “rap poetry” session with him.

Rappaman inspires the students from Fartown High School with his rap poetry.

One of Rappaman’s favourite sayings is “If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.” He always encourages the students taking part in his sessions to make notes as they go so they don’t forget all those creative ideas.

Here Rappaman gives the students a helping hand by getting some ideas down on paper.

A lot of the students from Fartown High School said Rappaman’s poem “Black Cinderella” was definitely one of their favourites.

Why don’t you have a look at Rappaman’s book – you can find it in the Chestnut Centre Library – and see if you agree with them.

You can add your comments to the ones left by the Fartown High School students below.

Read the comments  below to find out what the Fartown High students really thought of Rappaman …..

I thought the session was quite educational and that donovan was a good rapper and poet, I think that if you need any suggestions of more books I would suggest hells heroes by Darren Shan because he is quite popular between teens. Overall I enjoyed this time at the chestnut community center :)
