CHRIST CHURCH WOODHOUSE SCHOOL

CHRIST CHURCH WOODHOUSE SCHOOL
The Chestnut Centre library enjoys working closely with local schools to support pupils’ education.

Lots of children from Christ Church Woodhouse School use the Chestnut Centre library and many have been lucky enough to visit with their class to work alongside authors like Tom Palmer and Dave Webb.

These author sessions have been both fun and educational and the children have really enjoyed them.

At the moment, a small group of children from Christ Church Woodhouse School are visiting the Chestnut Centre Library every Monday afternoon to work with the Librarian.

The children are walking to and from the library – which is great exercise – and are taking part in lots of different activities based around books and reading.

This gives them the opportunity to practice their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in an ‘out of school environment’.

The children have also enhanced their IT skills while at the library by contributing to this blog !

Below, you can read some comments by the children from Christ Church Woodhouse School about their favourite reads …..
